About Terri Dorow
I grew up. Well, of course I grew up, but where? A whole bunch of places, as it turns out. I was born in Michigan, then moved to Minnesota, then Iowa, then Nebraska, then Virginia, and when I was 16 I finally ended up in California where I still live today! Whew!

I wanted to be a flight attendant (or, a stewardess, as they called them in those days) when I grew up but (again, in those days) you had to be at least 5'2" tall and I was pretty sure I would never reach that. But it worked out well, since after college I became an elementary school teacher and later, a school principal. A nice one.

I loved my career and one of my favorite parts of teaching was reading books to my classes. When I taught Kindergarten the kids loved Leo the Late Bloomer and the classic, Caps for Sale. When I taught older kids and we read chapter books, anything by Judy Blume was a favorite, as was Charlotte's Web. Many years later, I retired and decided I wanted to write books for kids to enjoy, just as much as my classes had. And now, I am!
